FAQ

How does shipping work?

Shipping is calculated at checkout. I’m based in Brooklyn so if you’re ordering internationally, please note that customs fees may apply in addition to shipping costs. I strive to help you minimize or avoid these fees whenever possible.

How do refunds work?

To request a refund, please contact me directly at SayeOyama@gmail.com. If you need to return a product, I’ll provide a shipping label. Once the item is received in its original packaging and approved, I’ll process your refund to the original payment method.
Note: Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase.

I’m interested but can’t afford your work!

When making jewelry from precious metals cost can of course be a barrier. I try to keep my pricing structure both transparent and flexible. That being said if a piece is beyond your range I do offer sliding scale options. While this site is incapable of offering flexible pricing I’d be happy to help on a case by case basis if you reach out through instagram.

What if my purchase is damaged or breaks?

I aim to create high-quality jewelry, but I understand that delicate pieces can sometimes break. If your item breaks within the first 6 months, please email me with your order number and a description of the issue. In most cases, I’ll ask you to return the product at no cost, and I’ll provide a refund or replacement.

Why don’t you have my size?

I try to offer a wide range of sizes, but I’m limited by the pricing structure of precious metals. To keep prices consistent across sizes, I maintain a more limited range. For example, a 5” bracelet uses about 1 oz of silver, while a 9” bracelet uses nearly 2 oz. Charging for the median length helps balance costs by keeping the median and mean inline, but offering larger sizes could disrupt this system.
If your size isn’t listed, please reach out before placing your order, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs at no added cost.

How is your work priced?

While I use a pricing formula as a starting point, it’s not set in stone. Here’s the basic structure:

  • Labor (hourly) + Material Cost + Production Cost (casting) = Cost
  • Cost x 1.5 = Wholesale Price
  • Wholesale Price x 1.5 = Retail Price

The 1.5x multipliers help cover overhead costs like studio space, supplies, variable sizing costs, and shipping. However, I often adjust these margins to make pieces more affordable. For charitable sales, I still cover labor, materials, and casting costs, but any additional proceeds are donated.

I plan to introduce transparency pricing in the future, which will provide a detailed cost breakdown for each item. If you’d like this information before making a purchase, feel free to reach out, and I’ll gladly share it.

How long before I get my order?

The vast majority of orders ship out within 5 business days however it can take as long as 10 business days as some pieces need to be altered to accomodate sizing. If you need your order sooner for any reason please reach out before ordering and i’ll do my best to accomodate your needs.
