1. Brute Choker

This was one of the first pieces I made with silver, and it definitely put me through it—trial and error, small injuries, a lot of setbacks. I started carving shapes into wax, mostly just following what the material seemed to suggest, and slowly, a pattern started to emerge. It wasn’t really designed so much as uncovered, shaped by the process itself.
It’s built from 3.5 mm Argentium jump rings in a Byzantine chainmail pattern, held together by five larger cast links. Each of those links is individually carved from wax and cast without a mold, which means no two are exactly the same. Finished off with a sterling silver toggle clasp, it’s a piece that came together through persistence, mistakes, and letting the material lead the way.
