3. Andalusite Ring

 Sterling Silver, Analusite 4.5mm

SOLD OUT

This ring is the byproduct of me learning how to set gems coupled with an irresponsible urge to buy shiny rocks without knowing what to do with them. It started out as a flush-set Andalusite for a pendant, but the stone ended up being too dark and kind of an awkward shape. So, I took out the stone, chopped off the pendant, and soldered it onto a spare ring I had lying around. And voilà.

The design’s a little simpler than I usually go for, but it really lets the gem shine—and I love the gem, so I’m pretty happy with it. The stone has this '90s vibe to it, with earthy purples, browns, and oranges. It kind of reminds me of Alanis Morissette, though I’m not sure why, considering her albums tend to lean more toward cooler tones. Either way, it’s not going to shine in the dark, but when the light hits it? It hits a little part of my brain that I can't quite explain.
